Monte Cristo Sandwich Recipe

Ingredients
2 tablespoons mayo
4 slices wheat bread
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
6 slices ham
6 slices Provolone cheese
1 egg
¼ teaspoon salt
⅛ teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon powdered sugar
2 tablespoons honey
Directions
Spread mayo on 2 bread slices and mustard on the other 2 slices.
Put ham and cheese on 2 of the slices.
Place the other 2 bread slices on top.
In a bowl, whisk the egg with salt and black pepper and transfer the mixture to a large enough dish to fit each sandwich.
Melt butter in a hot skillet over medium-high heat.
Dip each sandwich, one at a time, into the egg mixture.
Place the sandwiches on the hot skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side.
Transfer to a cutting board or a dish. Sprinkle powdered sugar and drizzle some honey on top. Enjoy while hot.
