For a perfectly filling, cozy breakfast to have on the go or at your office desk, simply cook grits ahead of time and pack them in a mason jar with your choice of toppings.
Grits are typically whipped up in moments, but when portioned out into mason jars or other food storage containers, they hold up surprisingly well as the days pass.
You can use any grits, though many find the coarser-ground type to have a more luxurious, creamy texture and mouthfeel. Cook them low and slow until creamy with butter and salt.
