Avoid Soggy Breakfast Burritos With This Make-Ahead Secret

To avoid a breakfast burrito with a mushy tortilla, the biggest mistakes to avoid are improper layering, hot ingredients, and too much sauce, which all result in excess moisture.
After cooking the ingredients, let them cool completely, or for about 10 minutes. Hot ingredients in a small space create water buildup, which the tortilla will then absorb.
While condiments are great for flavor, they can turn a tortilla soggy when dumped inside. Instead, add condiments to a small resealable container and dip the burrito in it.
If you're adding veggies, roast them during meal prep. Roasting gives them added caramelized flavor, and also helps remove some moisture so it doesn't transfer to the burrito.
Place dry ingredients in between the tortilla and the wet ingredients to create a barrier. A slice of cheese on top can also help protect the tortilla.
