Ina Garten Uses One Ingredient To Serve Cake Like A Restaurant
NEWS
BY S. FERRARI
Beloved cookbook author Ina Garten has a game-changing tip when it comes to serving cake: spooning a little raspberry sauce onto your dish before plating a slice of cake on top.
Simply use the back of a spoon to spread the sauce around the plate. It takes just seconds of your time and makes a major difference to the cake’s presentation and flavor.
Raspberry sauce provides a pop of contrasting color to each slice, and fruit jams have a tartness that cuts through the sugar of the cake and adds extra complexity to the dish.
This trick isn't limited to raspberry sauce, though. You can pair cherry with chocolate, mango with coconut, strawberry with cheesecake, or come up with your own combination.
