Japan Does Not Have The World's Only Michelin-Rated Japanese Steakhouse
NEWS

Only one Japanese steakhouse has made the Michelin Guide, and it isn't even located on the island nation. Called Pilar Akaneya, the steakhouse is located in Madrid, Spain.
Pilar Akaneya is Madrid's first Sumibiyaki barbecue restaurant and offers a plethora of Japanese dishes. Sumibiyaki is charcoal grilling where guests cook at their table.
Each table at Pilar Akaneya has a built-in charcoal grill where guests can cook their appetizers and entrees on the grill itself or in a bowl of mushroom and vegetable hotpot.
The restaurant's owners, Ignasi Elias and Chiho Murata, have tried to emulate an authentic Japanese culinary experience, from its furniture to its dining ware.
