Make Copycat McDonald's Egg McMuffins At Home With One Easy Tip

NEWS

BY ROBERT HAYNES-PETERSON

The Egg McMuffin is simple to recreate, using an English muffin, butter or oil, Canadian bacon, egg, and American cheese. But getting the egg perfect requires a special hack.
Part of the Egg McMuffin's identity is its perfectly circular egg disk. McDonald's makes them with custom griddles, but it's easy to mimic the effect at home using egg rings.
If you don’t have egg rings, you can also use the lidless ring or band closure off a wide-mouth Mason jar. Just invert it into the pan and crack your egg right into it.
The band doesn't retain much heat, so removing the egg should be easy. To make it even easier, spray the pan with oil before setting down the egg ring, then spray the ring itself.
