There's one convenient item at McDonald’s that few know about: bags of ice. The chain sells them cheap, and you don't even have to get out of your car.
McDonald's sells 8-pound bags for as little as 99 cents. Cost can vary, so you might pay as much as $1.50 or $2 — still a pretty good deal compared to grocery stores.
You can roll up to the drive-thru and ask for a bag of ice, so if you're pressed for time or on the road heading to the next campsite or tailgate, there's no need to get out.
McDonald's ice is good quality; the pieces are medium-sized rectangular chips that are easy to break apart. In your mouth, the ice is crunchy and doesn't melt too quickly.
