Stop Storing Coffee Beans In The Bag They Came In

NEWS

Coffee beans lose flavor quickly when exposed to light, air, and temperature fluctuations, so storing them in a paper bag is not ideal.
It's best to use a dedicated container to preserve their flavor and avoid places like the countertop or freezer, where moisture and light can affect the taste.
Ditch the paper bag and store your ground coffee or roasted beans in a well-sealed Mason jar, plastic bag, or your favorite Tupperware container.
Be mindful of where you store it — preferably in a dark, well-ventilated place with a steady temperature. Opt for a container with a vacuum-sealing top and an opaque finish.
There's one exception to keeping the paper bag: If your beans arrived in a specialized bag with a vent that removes oxygen and sports a zipper closure, they can remain in the bag.
