The Biggest Beef-Eating Country Is Turning To Pork Instead

Despite being one of the largest meat-eating nations, with beef intertwined strongly into its cuisine, Argentina is surprisingly switching to pork for its BBQs and daily meals.
The country has struggled with inflation over the last several years, reducing consumers' spending ability and making beef, especially quality steak, less affordable.
Furthermore, beef exports have accelerated, making steaks less accessible domestically. Subsequently, pork emerged as a substitute that still tastes delicious on the grill.
It's not that Argentinians weren't familiar with pork; it's just that the foodstuff didn't occupy the center stage like beef. Pork had long remained only a side option.
