Plate of fettuccine Alfredo
Alfredo sauce may be tasty, but the butter, cream, and cheese in it are high in calories, fat, and sodium. Luckily, you can healthily replicate it using cottage cheese and garlic.

Cottage cheese, which is lower in calories and fat and has lots of protein and minerals, offers the same silky texture, while garlic brings in its bite, warmth, and mild sweetness.

You can use flavored cottage cheese, but plain also works, as you'll be adding garlic and seasoning later. Note that the more fat your cheese has, the creamier the sauce will be.
Person using food processor
To make the sauce, blend your cheese and some garlic cloves in a food processor until smooth. The entire process will take a fraction of the time it takes to make Alfredo sauce.
