For a creamy milkshake, use large amounts of high-quality ice cream. Plan to load up your blender or milkshake maker with well beyond a single scoop.
Avoid cheap ice creams full of high fructose corn syrup and added flavors and sweeteners as they’re often full of added air. Opt for fatty, rich ice cream pints.
Stick with plain flavors for the most velvety smooth mix; a higher fat content is paramount to achieving the best flavor and consistency, both for the ice cream and the milk.
Opt for pints made with whole milk or heavy cream. For a thick milkshake, add at least four hefty scoops of ice cream to the blender along with toppings, but avoid sugary add-ins.
