Jars of Kirkland's organic peanut butter on shelves
The Peanut Butter At Costco That Doubles As A Trader Joe's Copycat

Costco’s Kirkland Signature Organic Peanut Butter compares to Trader Joe's Creamy Salted Peanut Butter and Organic Creamy Peanut Butter Salted Valencia with its taste and texture.
Costco's boasts dry-roasted organic Valencia peanuts and sea salt, TJ's Creamy Salted has dry-roasted peanuts and salt, and the other one has organic Valencia peanuts and sea salt.
Valencia peanuts are less grown and sweeter than other peanuts used in peanut butters, making them a prime choice for natural peanut butters that don't contain added sugar.
Peanuts are often roasted before being ground up for peanut butter to boost flavor and make them easy to blend. They can be oil- or dry-roasted, the latter of which only uses heat.
As for the sea salt, it’s made from evaporated sea water and is less processed than regular salt, which is derived from underground mines and processed to remove other minerals.
TJ's Creamy Salted costs $2.49 for 16 ounces and its Salted Valencia costs $4.49 per 16 ounces, compared to Kirkland's pack of two 28-ounce jars costing only $12.99.
