Pancakes are a comforting breakfast that can be topped with various sweeteners. For a mouthful of autumn goodness, use apple cider syrup instead of the traditional option.
You can make it at home with apple cider. Add between ½ and a whole gallon of cider to a pan, bring it to a boil, and then simmer until it thickens — around 40 minutes to an hour.
Unlike store-bought pancake syrup, apple cider is tart. The most basic recipes only require cider and a large vessel and it takes about an hour for the water to evaporate.
For a bit of extra fall warmth, you can add one or more spices after the boiling stage, like cinnamon, ginger, clove, cardamom, or nutmeg.
