Fast food costs have risen exponentially, and it's higher in some states than others. Based on the average cost of popular fast food items, Hawaii has the highest fast food prices.
Since there are only so many things you can source from an island, most things must be flown in or shipped overseas. This may have led to high import costs and pricey fast food.
What this means is that even the absolute cheapest fast food in
Hawaii comes with a high price. For reference, a Domino's pizza in the Aloha State costs a whopping $18.99.
