What Does An Asterisk Mean On Costco Price Tags?

Noticeably, each pallet of items at Costco has a large white placard above it. These price tags occasionally feature an asterisk in the top right corner, which serves a purpose.
A supermarket price tag.
Sometimes called the “death star,” the asterisk indicates that the product will not be restocked after the inventory runs out, so you might want to snag or stock up on it fast.

Often, prices punctuated with an asterisk are also heavily marked down. Check the date below the price, which shows the last time it was changed, and the price itself to confirm.
