Texas Roadhouse’s iconic house rolls are baked fresh every five minutes, arrive at the table warm, and come with a heaping helping of honey-cinnamon butter.
It’s not just the butter that makes these rolls delicious. Texas Roadhouse founder Kent Taylor says they have a carefully crafted recipe based on the simplest of ingredients.
Texas Roadhouse rolls are so difficult to replicate because they use yeast cultivated in-house, which workers constantly feed to help make the rolls both dense and fluffy.
Taylor and his kitchen manager found a flour that interacted well with their homemade yeast, and Taylor opted for a dash of cinnamon to really bring out the sweetness and depth.
