While Trader Joe’s did offer a fairly limited delivery service in New York City for some years, it ended in 2019, and the company has no intention of resurrecting it again.

A key reason for this decision is branding. According to Trader Joe’s, it’s all about “creating a rewarding shopping experience” through in-store shopping.

Corporate staff reiterated this sentiment on the Trader Joe’s podcast in May 2023, suggesting that the company’s goal is to be a “real place” with actual human interactions.

On that same podcast, a Trader Joe’s marketing exec pointed out that offering delivery would require the company to potentially spend years setting up an online system.

Additionally, a new transportation network will need to be established to run orders, which the brand is unwilling to invest in as it would force raised prices on its products.

However, for those still looking for delivery options, you can use an app like TaskRabbit or Dumpling to hire someone to visit and shop at Trader Joe’s on your behalf.
