Coca Cola's Latest Creations Flavor Tastes Like Salty Tears
Coca-Cola has announced a soda flavor that literally tastes like tears of joy. In honor of Random Acts of Kindness Day, which is February 17, Coke will be releasing Coca-Cola Happy Tears, the latest installment in its Coca-Cola Creations series. In a press release, the company stated, "The drop includes a limited edition flavor with a splash of salty minerals for taste and the launch of the world's kindest TikTok effect which prompts a random act of kindness to fans and those around them." The TikTok partnership means that this Coke flavor will only be available to purchase on the TikTok Shop beginning on February 17 and continuing as long as supplies last.
The Coca-Cola Creations series was launched in 2022 to create limited edition Coke flavors based on collaborations with pop culture figures and other companies. Before this partnership with TikTok, Coke released other collaborations, such as Coca-Cola Starlight, to honor their decades-long association with NASA; and the most recent Coca-Cola Creations flavor, Coca-Cola Y3000, a flavor made in partnership with AI which purports to taste like it comes from the year 3000.
There's also a permanent addition to the Coca-Cola lineup
In addition to announcing their new Happy Tears collaboration with TikTok, Coke dropped another bombshell. February will also see the release of a permanent addition to the Coca-Cola repertoire: Coca-Cola Spiced. Details surrounding this new soda are also scarce, but the brand has revealed that it will be flavored with raspberry and spices.
2024 also looks to be a big year for Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, with the brand planning a huge push for its sugar-free line of sodas. Both of the new flavors — Coca-Cola Happy Tears and Coca-Cola Spiced — will come in Zero Sugar versions, but that's not all. Coke is also planning a massive marketing campaign, which will focus heavily on TikTok, including collaborations with music influencers and more TikTok filters.
If you haven't tried Coke Zero Sugar yet, the brand wants to change that, and Coca-Cola is pulling out all the stops to do so. Throughout 2024, there will be an ongoing initiative to distribute samples of Coke Zero Sugar, which will include a major social media angle as well as live events. While it's clear that Coca-Cola sees its Zero Sugar line as a keystone in its future, there are still health concerns surrounding Coke Zero that are worth knowing about.
